Method

Cocktail

1

Combine ingredients

Add bourbon, Concord grape juice, fresh lemon juice, simple syrup, dry vermouth, and Angostura bitters into a mixing glass or cocktail shaker filled with ice. Use fresh lemon juice for balance; adjust the simple syrup if your grape juice is very sweet.

2

Stir or shake

If you want a slightly more diluted, velvety texture, stir the mixture in the mixing glass for about 20–30 seconds until well chilled (and properly diluted). For a brighter, aerated cocktail, shake vigorously for 10–12 seconds and then strain. Either method works; stirring is recommended to keep clarity.

3

Prepare glass

If serving on the rocks, place a single large ice cube or sphere in an old-fashioned glass. If serving up, chill a coupe or martini glass in the freezer or with ice/water while mixing.

4

Strain and top

Strain the cocktail into your prepared glass. If serving on the rocks, strain over the large ice cube. Optionally top with about 1 oz club soda for a lighter mouthfeel and a tiny effervescent lift.

Garnish & Finish

5

Express the lemon twist over the drink to release oils, rub it around the rim, and drop it into the glass.

6

Skewer the grape or place the marinated cherry on a pick and rest it across the glass or drop it in. Serve immediately.
