Method
Prep the Glass
Chill a rocks or coupe glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes, or fill with ice water while preparing the cocktail.
Pour the coarse salt onto a small plate; if using, stir in the fine citrus zest or a pinch of superfine sugar to brighten the rim.
Mix the Cocktail
Measure and Combine
Into a cocktail shaker add 2 oz Milagro Silver Tequila, 0.75 oz St. Germain, 0.5 oz Cointreau, 0.5 oz fresh lemon juice, 0.75 oz fresh lime juice, and 0.5 oz fresh orange juice. If you prefer a slightly sweeter margarita, add 0.25 oz simple syrup.
Add Ice and Shake
Fill the shaker with approximately 1 cup of ice. Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds (until the shaker is very cold and slightly frosted).
Strain
Discard the ice or water from the chilled glass. Double-strain the cocktail into the prepared glass using a Hawthorne strainer and a fine mesh strainer to remove ice shards and any pulp.
Finish & Serve
Garnish the rim with a lime wheel or an orange twist placed on the glass edge. Optionally express an orange peel over the drink to release oils, then drop it in.
Serve immediately. Recommend drinking at once while cold and bright.
