Tea Base

Method

Brewing the Tea

  1. 1

    Boil Water

In a kettle, bring 500 ml of water to a boil.

  2. 2

    Steep Pu'er Tea

Once the water is boiling, remove it from heat and add 2 tablespoons of pu'er tea leaves. Let the tea steep for 4-5 minutes.

  3. 3

    Strain the Tea

After steeping, strain the tea leaves using a fine mesh strainer into a heatproof pitcher or teapot.

Infusing Flavor

  1. 4

    Add Toasted Oak Chips

While the tea is still warm, add 1 tablespoon of toasted oak chips to the strained tea. Allow it to infuse for an additional 5 minutes.

  2. 5

    Sweeten the Tea

After the oak chips have infused, stir in 1 tablespoon of demerara sugar until fully dissolved.

  3. 6

    Finish with Bitters

Finally, add 2 dashes of aromatic bitters to the tea and stir gently.

Serving

  1. 7

    Serve Hot or Cold

You can serve the toasted oak infusion hot or let it cool and serve over ice. Enjoy your Toasted Oak drink!
