Mini Beignets

Method

Mini Beignets

1

Prepare the Dough

In a bowl, combine warm milk and sugar. Sprinkle yeast on top and allow it to sit for 5 minutes or until frothy.

2

Mix Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, add flour and salt. Pour in the yeast mixture, followed by the beaten egg and melted butter. Mix until a dough forms.

3

Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.

4

Let the Dough Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

5

Shape the Beignets

Once risen, punch down the dough and roll it out to 1/2 inch thickness. Cut into squares.

6

Fry the Beignets

Heat vegetable oil in a deep pot to 350°F (175°C). Fry the dough squares until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side. Drain on paper towels.

Gouda Crema

7

Combine Ingredients

In a saucepan over medium heat, combine shredded gouda cheese, heavy cream, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper.

8

Heat Mixture

Stir continuously until the cheese melts and the mixture is smooth. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

Apple Sorbet

9

Prepare the Apples

In a saucepan, combine chopped apples, sugar, lemon juice, and water. Cook over medium heat until apples are soft, about 10-15 minutes.

10

Blend the Mixture

Allow the mixture to cool, then blend until smooth. Transfer to an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours or until firm.
