Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

Cream Butter and Sugar
In a large mixing bowl, beat the unsalted butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.

Combine Mixtures
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.

Form Cookies
Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

In a medium saucepan, whisk together the unsweetened cocoa powder, granulated sugar, and water until smooth.

Once the syrup reaches a simmer, stir in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt.

Remove from heat and let the syrup cool completely. Store in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
