Method

Fried Chicken

  1. 1

    Prepare the Chicken

Rinse the chicken breasts under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.

  2. 2

    Marinate in Buttermilk

Place chicken breasts in a bowl and cover them with buttermilk. Marinate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Breading

In a shallow dish, mix flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.

  4. 4

    Bread the Chicken

Remove chicken from buttermilk, letting excess drip off. Dredge in the flour mixture until fully coated.

  5. 5

    Fry the Chicken

In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry chicken in batches for 6-8 minutes per side or until golden brown and cooked through. Drain on paper towels.

Garlic Mashed Potatoes

  1. 6

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel and chop the potatoes into chunks. Place in a large pot and cover with cold water.

  2. 7

    Cook the Potatoes

Bring water to a boil and cook potatoes until tender, about 15-20 minutes. Add garlic cloves in the last 5 minutes of cooking.

  3. 8

    Mash the Potatoes

Drain the potatoes and garlic, then return to the pot. Add butter, milk, salt, and black pepper. Mash until smooth and creamy.

Grilled Asparagus

  1. 9

    Prepare the Asparagus

Trim the tough ends off the asparagus and rinse under cold water.

  2. 10

    Season and Grill

Toss asparagus with olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Grill over medium-high heat for about 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally until tender.

Buttermilk Biscuit

  1. 11

    Prepare the Biscuit Dough

In a large bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in butter until crumbly. Stir in buttermilk until just combined.

  2. 12

    Shape and Bake

Turn dough onto a floured surface, knead gently, and roll out to 1 inch thick. Cut into rounds and place on a baking sheet. Bake at 425°F (220°C) for 15-20 minutes until golden.

Cowboy Butter

  1. 13

    Mix the Ingredients

In a bowl, combine softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, lemon juice, and paprika. Mix until well combined and smooth.

  2. 14

    Serve

Serve cowboy butter at room temperature alongside the fried chicken.
