Fried Chicken

Prepare the Chicken
Rinse the chicken breasts under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.

Marinate in Buttermilk
Place chicken breasts in a bowl and cover them with buttermilk. Marinate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.

Prepare the Breading
In a shallow dish, mix flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.

Bread the Chicken
Remove chicken from buttermilk, letting excess drip off. Dredge in the flour mixture until fully coated.

Fry the Chicken
In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry chicken in batches for 6-8 minutes per side or until golden brown and cooked through. Drain on paper towels.

Cook the Potatoes
Bring water to a boil and cook potatoes until tender, about 15-20 minutes. Add garlic cloves in the last 5 minutes of cooking.

Prepare the Asparagus
Trim the tough ends off the asparagus and rinse under cold water.

Prepare the Biscuit Dough
In a large bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in butter until crumbly. Stir in buttermilk until just combined.

Shape and Bake
Turn dough onto a floured surface, knead gently, and roll out to 1 inch thick. Cut into rounds and place on a baking sheet. Bake at 425°F (220°C) for 15-20 minutes until golden.
