SMALL PLATES

  1. 1

    Prepare the Brussels Sprouts

Begin by rinsing the Brussels sprouts under cold water. Trim the ends and remove any damaged outer leaves. Cut each sprout in half lengthwise.

  2. 2

    Mix the Seasoning

In a large bowl, combine the paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to create a seasoning blend.

  3. 3

    Coat the Brussels Sprouts

Add the halved Brussels sprouts to the bowl with the seasoning mix. Drizzle the olive oil over the sprouts and toss them until they are evenly coated with the oil and seasoning.

  4. 4

    Heat the Pan

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Allow the skillet to get hot before adding the Brussels sprouts.

  5. 5

    Fry the Brussels Sprouts

Once the skillet is hot, add the Brussels sprouts cut-side down. Let them fry for about 5-7 minutes without stirring, allowing them to develop a blackened crust. After the initial frying, stir the Brussels sprouts and continue cooking for another 3-5 minutes until they are tender and crispy.

  6. 6

    Serve

Remove the Brussels sprouts from the skillet and transfer them to a serving plate. Serve hot with lemon wedges on the side for squeezing over the top.
