Fruit Base

Sweetener & Balance

Packaging (to replicate pouch experience)

Method

Prepare Fruit Base

  1. 1

    Combine liquids

In a large pitcher, pour 4 cups of cold water, 1 cup white grape juice, 1 cup apple juice, and 1 cup orange juice. Stir gently to combine.

  2. 2

    Add lemon

Add 2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice to brighten the mixture and stir.

Sweeten & Season

  1. 3

Add 3 tablespoons granulated sugar and 1 teaspoon salt to the pitcher. Stir until sugar is dissolved. Taste and, if you prefer slightly sweeter or more complex sweetness, stir in up to 1 tablespoon of honey or the optional fruit concentrate/syrup (up to 2 tablespoons) and mix thoroughly.

Optional Flavor Boosters

  1. 4

If using fresh mint, bruise the leaves lightly between your palms to release oils and add to the pitcher. If using a fruit concentrate or syrup, add it now and stir. Let the mixture chill for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator so flavors meld.

Chill & Serve

  1. 5

After chilling, give the beverage a final stir. If you want the classic chilled experience, add ice cubes to the pitcher or pour the drink over ice-filled cups. For a more authentic Capri Sun pouch experience, fill resealable pouches or small bottles with about 8–10 ounces (approx. 1 to 1.25 cups) of the drink each. Seal pouches/bottles and keep chilled until serving.

Notes & Storage

  1. 6

Store any leftover homemade Capri Sun in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Shake or stir before serving as separation may occur. If using pouches, consume within 24 hours for best texture and flavor.
