Soda Can Cocktail (single serving)
Equipment
Method
Prepare and serve soda can drink
- 1
Open the can
If you have a pull-tab can, hold the can on a stable surface and lift the tab to open. If the can is sealed without a pull-tab, use the metal can opener to cut the top carefully. Make sure the opening is clear and free of loose metal.
- 2
Chill glass (optional)
If you prefer an extra-cold drink, place your tall glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes or fill it with ice water while you prepare other items. Empty the ice water before pouring.
- 3
Add ice
Fill the tall glass with about 1 cup of ice or to your preference. Leaving room at the top makes it easier to pour the soda without overflowing.
- 4
- 5
Adjust sweetness and flavor (optional)
If you like sweeter drinks, add up to 1 teaspoon of simple syrup and stir gently with the stirrer. For a citrus note, roll the lime or lemon on the counter to release juices, cut it in half, and squeeze one half into the glass; drop the squeezed half in as a garnish if desired.
- 6
Clean-up
- 7
Rinse the empty can to remove sticky residue before recycling. Wash your glass, stirrer, and measuring spoon with warm soapy water or place in the dishwasher if dishwasher-safe.
