Preparation of Base

Brew Espresso
Brew 1 cup of strong espresso coffee and allow it to cool slightly. Add 3 tablespoons of coffee liqueur to the espresso and set aside.

Prepare Ladyfingers
Dip each ladyfinger cookie quickly into the espresso mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy. Arrange a layer of dipped ladyfingers in a rectangular dish.

Whisk Egg Yolks
In a mixing bowl, whisk together 4 egg yolks and 3 tablespoons of granulated sugar until the mixture is pale and creamy.

Incorporate Mascarpone
Gently fold in 8 ounces of mascarpone cheese into the egg yolk mixture until smooth and well combined.

Whip Heavy Cream
In a separate bowl, whip 1 cup of heavy cream with 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.

Combine Mixtures
Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully incorporated. Be careful not to deflate the whipped cream.
Assemble Tiramisu

Spread half of the mascarpone filling over the layer of ladyfingers in the dish.

Add Second Layer of Ladyfingers
Repeat the process with another layer of dipped ladyfingers, followed by the remaining mascarpone filling on top.

Chill Tiramisu
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or preferably overnight to allow the flavors to meld.
