Method
Preparation of Salad
- 1
Prepare the Romaine
Wash the romaine lettuce thoroughly under cold water. Shake off excess water and chop the lettuce into bite-sized pieces. Place in a large salad bowl.
- 2
Make the Dressing
In a medium bowl, combine mayonnaise, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, Dijon mustard, salt, and black pepper. Whisk together until smooth and well combined. Adjust seasoning to taste.
Preparation of Garlic Croutons
- 3
Prepare the Croutons
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Cut the bread into small cubes (about 1 inch). In a large bowl, combine the bread cubes, olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Toss until the bread is evenly coated.
- 4
Bake the Croutons
Spread the coated bread cubes in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy, tossing halfway through to ensure even browning.
Assembling the Salad
- 5
Combine the Ingredients
Once the croutons are ready, let them cool slightly. Add the croutons and grated Pecorino Romano cheese to the bowl with the romaine lettuce.
- 6
Dress the Salad
Drizzle the prepared dressing over the salad and toss gently to coat all the ingredients evenly. Serve immediately.
