Method

Preparation of Ingredients

  1. 1

    Prepare the Romaine Lettuce

Wash and dry the romaine lettuce leaves thoroughly. Chop them into bite-sized pieces and place them in a large salad bowl.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Croutons

If using store-bought garlic croutons, measure out 1 cup and set aside. If making homemade croutons, cube day-old bread, toss with olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and pepper, and bake at 375°F (190°C) for about 10-15 minutes until golden.

Making the Dressing

  1. 3

    Blend the Dressing

In a food processor or blender, combine the anchovy fillets, minced garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, Dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Blend until smooth.

  2. 4

    Season the Dressing

Taste the dressing and add salt and black pepper to your preference. Blend again briefly to combine.

Assembling the Salad

  1. 5

    Combine Ingredients

Pour the dressing over the chopped romaine lettuce in the large salad bowl. Toss well to ensure the lettuce is evenly coated.

  2. 6

    Add Croutons and Cheese

Add the garlic croutons and Pecorino Romano cheese to the salad. Toss gently to combine and distribute the croutons and cheese evenly.

Serving the Salad

  1. 7

    Serve Immediately

Transfer the Caesar salad to individual serving plates or bowls and serve immediately for the best texture.
