For the Four Piece Chicken

Method

Preparation and Cooking Directions

1

Marinate the Chicken

In a bowl, mix soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Add chicken pieces, cover, and marinate for at least 30 minutes.

2

Prepare the Onions

In a separate bowl, combine sliced onions with a pinch of salt and let them sit to marinate for about 15 minutes.

3

Prepare the Breading

Set up a breading station with three bowls: one with flour, one with the beaten egg, and one with bread crumbs.

4

Bread the Chicken

Take each marinated chicken piece, coat it in flour, dip it in the beaten egg, and then coat it with bread crumbs. Repeat for all pieces.

5

Fry the Chicken

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, fry the breaded chicken pieces for about 6-8 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.

6

Prepare the Fried Garlic

In a small pan, heat a little oil and fry minced garlic until golden and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.

7

Assemble the Dish

Place the fried chicken on a serving plate, drizzle with General Tso’s sauce, and top with fried garlic, marinated onions, and bread & butter pickles.
