Biscuits & Sausage Gravy

Method

Preparation

1

Make the Biscuits

Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C). In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in the milk just until combined. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead gently. Roll out to about 1 inch thick and cut into rounds. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes until golden.

2

Prepare the Sausage Gravy

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned. Sprinkle the 0.5 cups of flour over the sausage and stir to combine. Gradually add the 2 cups of milk, stirring constantly until the gravy thickens. Season with black pepper to taste.

3

Scramble the Eggs

In a bowl, whisk together the eggs with a pinch of salt. In a nonstick skillet over medium-low heat, scramble the eggs until soft and fluffy. Remove from heat and fold in the Parmesano Reggiano cheese.

4

Assemble the Dish

Serve the biscuits topped with the sausage gravy and a side of soft scrambled eggs. Drizzle with chili crisp for added flavor.
