Preparation

1

Prepare the Ingredients

Measure out all the dry and liquid ingredients as listed. Ensure your brewing equipment is clean and sanitized before starting.

Brewing Process

2

Boil the Water

In a large pot, bring 6 liters of water to a rolling boil.

3

Add Malted Barley

Once the water is boiling, add 1 cup of malted barley extract and stir to dissolve.

4

Add Dry Ingredients

Add 6 cups of pale malt, 1 cup of roasted barley, and 0.5 cups of crystal malt to the pot.

5

Add Bittering Hops

After the grains have been added, boil for 60 minutes and add 1 tablespoon of bittering hops.

6

Add Aroma Hops

With 15 minutes left in the boil, add 0.5 tablespoons of aroma hops.

Cooling and Fermentation

7

Cool the Wort

After boiling, cool the wort quickly using a wort chiller or an ice bath until it reaches room temperature.

8

Transfer to Fermentation Vessel

Pour the cooled wort into a sanitized fermentation vessel, leaving sediment behind.

9

Pitch the Yeast

Sprinkle 1 packet of ale yeast on top of the wort and seal the fermentation vessel with an airlock.

10

Ferment

Allow the beer to ferment for 1-2 weeks at room temperature.

Bottling

11

Prepare Bottling

After fermentation is complete, dissolve 3 tablespoons of priming sugar in a small amount of boiling water.

12

Bottle the Beer

Add the sugar solution to the bottom of each sanitized bottle before filling with beer.

13

Seal and Age

Cap the bottles and store them in a cool, dark place for at least 2 weeks to carbonate.
