Hot Honey Fried Chicken

Method

Hot Honey Fried Chicken

  1. 1

    Marinate the Chicken

In a large bowl, combine the buttermilk, salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder. Add the chicken pieces, ensuring they are fully submerged. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Coating

In another bowl, mix the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, and paprika. This will be the coating for the chicken.

  3. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a large skillet or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  4. 4

    Coat and Fry the Chicken

Remove the chicken from the marinade, allowing excess buttermilk to drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture, ensuring an even coating. Fry the chicken pieces for about 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  5. 5

    Add Hot Honey

In the last few minutes of frying, brush the sriracha hot honey over the chicken pieces for a spicy-sweet glaze.

Mango and Red Cabbage Slaw

  1. 6

    Combine the Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the shredded red cabbage, diced mango, shredded carrot, chopped cilantro, lime juice, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 7

    Toss and Chill

Toss everything together until well mixed. Let it sit for at least 15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Avocado Ranch Dressing

  1. 8

    Blend the Dressing

In a blender or food processor, combine the ripe avocado, buttermilk, ranch dressing mix, chopped dill, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Blend until smooth and creamy.

  2. 9

    Adjust Seasoning

Taste the dressing and adjust salt and pepper as needed.
