Method
Chicken Tenders
- 1
Prepare the Chicken
Cut the chicken breast into strips, about 1 inch wide. Pat them dry with paper towels.
- 2
Set Up Breading Station
In three shallow dishes, place flour in the first, beaten eggs in the second, and bread crumbs mixed with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika in the third.
- 3
Bread the Chicken
Dredge each chicken strip first in flour, then dip into the egg, and finally coat with the bread crumb mixture. Ensure each piece is well coated.
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it shimmers. Test the heat by dropping in a small piece of bread; it should sizzle immediately.
- 5
Fry the Chicken
Carefully place the breaded chicken strips in the hot oil, cooking in batches if necessary. Fry for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
- 6
Drain and Serve
Remove the chicken tenders with a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve hot.
Fries
- 7
Prepare the Potatoes
Wash and peel the potatoes. Cut them into thin strips, about 1/4 inch thick.
- 8
- 9
Heat the Oil for Frying
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 10
Fry the Potatoes
Drain the soaked potatoes and pat them dry with paper towels. Carefully add them to the hot oil in batches and fry for 4-5 minutes until golden and crispy.
- 11
Season and Serve
Remove the fries with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with salt to taste and serve alongside the chicken tenders.
