Ahi Tuna

Adobo Crema

Mango and Red Cabbage Slaw

Method

Prepare Ahi Tuna

  1. 1

    Season the Tuna

Pat the ahi tuna steaks dry with paper towels. Drizzle with olive oil and season both sides with salt and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Sear the Tuna

Heat a non-stick skillet over high heat. Once hot, add the tuna steaks. Sear for about 1-2 minutes on each side for rare, or longer depending on your desired doneness. Remove from heat and sprinkle with sesame seeds.

Make Guacamole

  1. 3

    Prepare the Ingredients

Cut the avocados in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a mixing bowl.

  2. 4

    Mash and Mix

Using a fork, mash the avocados to your desired consistency. Stir in lime juice, salt, diced red onion, chopped cilantro, and diced tomato until well combined.

Prepare Adobo Crema

  1. 5

    Mix the Ingredients

In a small bowl, combine the sour cream and adobo sauce. Mix well until smooth and creamy.

Make Mango and Red Cabbage Slaw

  1. 6

    Combine Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, add the shredded red cabbage and thinly sliced mango.

  2. 7

    Dress the Slaw

Drizzle with lime juice and sprinkle with salt. Toss gently to combine and let sit for a few minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Assemble the Dish

  1. 8

    Plate the Ingredients

On a serving plate, place a generous spoonful of guacamole. Next, slice the seared tuna and arrange it on top of the guacamole. Add a portion of the mango and red cabbage slaw on the side.

  2. 9

    Drizzle with Adobo Crema

Finish by drizzling the adobo crema over the tuna and slaw for added flavor.
