Can Cocktail (single serving)

Batch (makes 6 cans / servings)

Method

Can Cocktail (single serving)

  1. 1

    Prepare glass

Fill a highball glass or a tall can-styled glass with ice cubes until about 3/4 full.

  2. 2

    Combine spirits and modifiers

In a cocktail shaker or mixing glass, add vodka (1.5 oz), gin (0.5 oz), white rum (0.5 oz), triple sec (0.5 oz), fresh lime juice (0.5 oz), and simple syrup (0.5 oz).

  3. 3

    Shake or stir

If using a shaker: add a small handful of ice, cap, and shake vigorously for 8–10 seconds to chill and dilute slightly. If using a mixing glass: stir with a bar spoon for 20–30 seconds until well chilled.

  4. 4

    Strain

Strain the chilled mixture over the prepared glass of fresh ice, pouring evenly into the glass.

  5. 5

    Top with cola

Gently top the drink with 4 oz cold cola. Pour slowly down the side of the glass to preserve some carbonation and create a layered effect.

  6. 6

    Finish and garnish

Gently stir once with a bar spoon (1–2 slow turns) to integrate the cola with the spirit mix. Garnish with a lime wheel on the rim and optionally tuck a mint sprig into the drink for aroma.

  7. 7

    Serve

Serve immediately while cold and fizzy. Provide a straw if desired.

Batch (6 servings)

  1. 8

    Combine batch ingredients

In a large pitcher or beverage dispenser, pour vodka (9 oz), gin (3 oz), white rum (3 oz), triple sec (3 oz), fresh lime juice (3 oz), and simple syrup (3 oz).

  2. 9

    Chill

Stir the mixture well to combine. Refrigerate the batch mixture for at least 30 minutes to get cold (do not add cola yet or it will go flat).

  3. 10

    Prepare servings

When ready to serve, fill six tall glasses with ice. Pour 4 oz of the chilled spirit mixture into each glass.

  4. 11

    Top with cola and garnish

Top each glass with 4 oz cold cola, stir once, and garnish each with a lime wheel and optional mint sprig.

  5. 12

    Notes

If you want to can this mixture to take away, keep the spirit mix and cola separate until serving; fill cans with 4 oz spirit mix and 4 oz cola over ice at serving time to preserve carbonation.
