Fries Preparation Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Potatoes

Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into evenly sized strips, about 1/4 inch thick.

  2. 2

    Soak the Potatoes

Place the cut potatoes in a bowl of cold water and soak for at least 30 minutes. This will help remove excess starch and make the fries crispier.

  3. 3

    Preheat the Oil

In a deep pot or fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  4. 4

    Dry the Potatoes

Drain the soaked potatoes and pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel to remove excess moisture.

  5. 5

    Fry the Potatoes

Carefully add the dried potato strips in batches to the hot oil. Fry for about 5-7 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy.

  6. 6

    Drain and Season

Remove the fries from the oil and drain on paper towels. While still hot, season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste.

  7. 7

    Serve

Serve the fries hot with your favorite dipping sauces.
