Cooking Pasta

Cook the Pasta

In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Making the Sauce

Prepare the Sauce

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute. Add the halved cherry tomatoes and cook until they start to soften, about 3-4 minutes.

Combine Pasta and Sauce

Add the cooked penne pasta to the skillet with the tomato mixture. Toss well to combine. Stir in the chopped basil and season with salt and black pepper to taste.

Serve the pasta on plates, garnishing with grated Parmesan cheese, extra basil leaves, and Parmesan shavings if desired.
