Peach Cobbler Ingredients

Method

Peach Cobbler Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Peaches

Wash, peel, and slice the fresh peaches into thin slices. If using canned peaches, drain the syrup completely and slice the peaches.

  2. 2

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  3. 3

    Make the Peach Filling

In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced peaches with 1/2 cup of sugar and cinnamon. Toss well to coat the peaches, then set aside to let the mixture juice up.

  4. 4

    Melt the Butter

In a medium saucepan, melt the stick of butter over low heat. Once melted, remove from heat and set aside.

  5. 5

    Prepare the Batter

In a separate bowl, combine the flour, remaining 1/2 cup of sugar, baking powder, and salt. Mix well. Gradually add the milk and vanilla extract, stirring until just combined.

  6. 6

    Assemble the Cobbler

Pour the melted butter into a 9x13 inch baking dish. Pour the batter over the butter without stirring. Spoon the peach mixture over the batter, ensuring to distribute evenly.

  7. 7

    Bake the Cobbler

Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the peaches are bubbly.

  8. 8

    Serve

Remove the cobbler from the oven and allow it to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream!
