Toppings

Method

Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Prepare the Burger Patty

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until just combined and form into 4 equal patties.

Barbecue Sauce

  1. 2

    Baste the Burger

Once the burgers are cooked to your desired doneness, baste each patty generously with barbecue sauce during the last minute of cooking.

Beer Battered Onion Rings

  1. 3

    Prepare Onion Rings

Slice the onion into 1/2 inch thick rings and separate them. In a bowl, mix the flour and salt. Gradually whisk in beer until the batter is smooth.

  2. 4

    Fry the Onion Rings

Heat the vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium-high heat. Dip each onion ring into the batter, allowing excess to drip off, and carefully place in hot oil. Fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 5

    Build the Burger

Toast the gourmet buns lightly. Place a patty on the bottom half of each bun, top with a slice of smoked ham, a slice of cheese, and finish with a crispy beer-battered onion ring. Place the top half of the bun over the onion ring.
