Method

Preparing the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mixing Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Use your hands to gently mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Forming Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a round patty about ¾ inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to help them cook evenly.

Cooking the Burger

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Pan

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat. If using a skillet, add a little oil to prevent sticking.

  2. 4

    Cooking the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for 3-4 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and place your desired cheese on top. Cook for another 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the patties reach your preferred doneness.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 5

    Prepare the Bun

While the burgers are cooking, slice the gourmet buns in half. You may toast them lightly on the grill or in a toaster if desired.

  2. 6

    Layering the Ingredients

On the bottom half of each bun, layer a lettuce leaf, a slice of tomato, and a slice of onion. Place the cooked patty with melted cheese on top, followed by pickles. Drizzle ketchup and mustard on top, then place the top half of the bun to complete the burger.
