Method
Dough Preparation
- 1
Activate Yeast
In a small bowl, mix the warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until foamy.
- 2
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt.
- 3
Combine Ingredients
Make a well in the center of the flour mixture and pour in the activated yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
- 4
Knead the Dough
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- 5
Let the Dough Rise
Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover it with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm area for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
Assembling the Pizza
- 6
Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat.
- 7
Roll Out Dough
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and transfer it to a floured surface. Roll it out into a 12-inch circle.
- 8
Prepare Pizza Base
Transfer the rolled-out dough to a baking sheet or pizza peel dusted with flour. Brush the surface lightly with olive oil.
- 9
Add Toppings
Evenly distribute the Canadian bacon and pineapple chunks over the pizza base. Sprinkle the shredded pepper jack and mozzarella cheese on top.
- 10
Season the Pizza
Sprinkle dried oregano and crushed red pepper flakes over the top to taste.
- 11
Bake the Pizza
Carefully transfer the pizza to the preheated oven (or onto the pizza stone) and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and the crust is golden brown.
- 12
Serve
Remove the pizza from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes, slice, and serve warm.
