Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Chicken
In a large bowl, combine the olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Add the chicken breasts and coat them well with the mixture. Allow the chicken to marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- 2
Cook the Bacon
In a frying pan over medium heat, cook the slices of smoked bacon until crispy. Remove from the pan and set aside on a paper towel to drain excess fat.
Grilling
- 3
Grill the Chicken
Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Place the marinated chicken breasts on the grill. Cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
- 4
Add Cheese
In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of American cheese and a slice of Swiss cheese on each chicken breast. Close the grill lid to melt the cheese.
Assembling the Burger
- 5
Prepare the Buns
Toast the gourmet burger buns on the grill for about 1-2 minutes until lightly golden.
- 6
Assemble the Burger
Place a grilled chicken breast on the bottom half of each bun. Top with two slices of crispy smoked bacon. Add optional toppings like lettuce, tomato, mayonnaise, and ketchup as desired. Finish by placing the top half of the bun.
