Method

Bread Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Stir gently and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes, or until it becomes frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Mix well.

  3. 3

    Combine Ingredients

Once the yeast is activated, add it to the dry ingredients along with olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.

  4. 4

    Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until it's smooth and elastic.

  5. 5

    First Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.

  6. 6

    Shape the Bread

Once risen, punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf or divide it into smaller portions for rolls.

  7. 7

    Second Rise

Place the shaped dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cover it again with a damp cloth and let it rise for an additional 30 minutes.

  8. 8

    Preheat Oven

While the dough is rising, preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  9. 9

    Bake the Bread

After the second rise, bake the bread in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.

Garlic Butter Preparation

  1. 10

    Prepare Garlic Butter

In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant but not browned. Stir in chopped parsley and salt.

  2. 11

    Apply Garlic Butter

Once the bread is baked and slightly cooled, slice the bread (if it's a loaf) and brush the garlic butter generously on top of each slice.

  3. 12

    Serve

Serve the garlic bread warm, and enjoy!
