Fried Chicken & Biscuits
Method
Preparation
- 1
Marinate the Chicken
In a large bowl, combine the buttermilk, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Add the chicken breasts, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (or overnight for best results).
- 2
Prepare the Breading
In another bowl, mix together the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- 3
Fry the Chicken
Heat the vegetable oil in a deep skillet or fryer to 350°F (175°C). Remove chicken from the marinade, allowing excess buttermilk to drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture, pressing to adhere. Fry the chicken in batches for about 6-8 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Drain on paper towels.
