Method
Cocktail
- 1
Chill glass
Place a martini/coupe glass in the freezer for 5β10 minutes or fill it with ice water while you prepare the cocktail to ensure the drink is served well chilled.
- 2
Measure and combine
In a cocktail shaker, add 2 oz vodka, 0.5 oz Faccia Brutto Nocino, 0.75 oz fig liqueur, 0.5 oz fresh lemon juice, and 0.25 oz simple syrup (only if you prefer a sweeter cocktail).
- 3
Add ice and shake
Add about 1 cup of ice to the shaker. Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 12β18 seconds, or until the shaker feels very cold to the touch and the outside has a light frost.
- 4
Strain
Empty the ice or water from the chilled glass. Double-strain the cocktail into the chilled martini/coupe glass using a Hawthorne strainer and a fine mesh strainer to catch any small ice shards or pulp from the lemon juice.
Garnish & Serve
- 5
Thread the fresh fig slice onto a cocktail pick (or place the dried fig on the rim). Express a lemon twist over the drink by holding it skin-side down and giving it a firm squeeze to release oils, then run the twist around the glass rim and drop it into the cocktail or rest it on the rim.
