Prepare the Onion
Finely slice the red onion and set aside in a small bowl.

Toast the Bread
In a toaster or under a broiler, toast the slices of bread until golden brown and crisp.

Arrange the Salmon
Lay the smoked Scottish salmon on a serving platter or individual plates.
Assembly

Spread the Crème Fraîche
Spread a generous dollop of crème fraîche over each slice of toasted bread.

Add the Salmon
Place a slice of smoked salmon on top of the crème fraîche on each toast.

Top with Onion
Sprinkle the finely sliced red onion over the salmon on each toast.

Optional: Sprinkle capers and fresh dill over the top, and serve with lemon wedges on the side.
