Pastries

Method

Pastry Preparation

1

Prepare the Dough

In a large bowl, combine warm milk and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.

2

Mix Ingredients

Add sugar, salt, and melted butter to the yeast mixture. Mix well, then add eggs and vanilla extract, stirring until combined.

3

Add Flour

Gradually add the all-purpose flour to the mixture, stirring until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.

4

First Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm area for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

5

Shape the Pastries

Once risen, punch down the dough and roll it out on a floured surface. Cut into desired shapes and fill with fruits. Fold or twist as preferred.

6

Second Rise

Place shaped pastries on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cover and let them rise for another 30 minutes.

7

Bake the Pastries

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the pastries for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool before glazing.

8

Glaze the Pastries

Mix powdered sugar with a little water or milk to create a glaze. Drizzle over the cooled pastries.

Butter & Jam Preparation

9

Prepare Butter

Soften the unsalted butter to room temperature. You can whip it for a lighter texture if desired.

10

Serve Jam

Spoon the fruit jam into a small bowl for serving alongside the pastries.
