Brownie Preparation

Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Melt the Butter
In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat.

Mix Sugars
Remove from heat and stir in granulated sugar and brown sugar until well combined.

Add Eggs and Vanilla
Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

Combine Dry Ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.

Combine Wet and Dry Mixtures
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.

Bake the Brownies
Pour the brownie batter into a greased 9x13 inch baking pan. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Cool
Allow brownies to cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.

Place a brownie square on a plate, top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, drizzle with hot fudge sauce, sprinkle with chopped nuts, and add whipped cream and a maraschino cherry on top.
