Prepare the Meatballs
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, Italian sausage, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, salt, pepper, oregano, and basil. Mix until just combined. Form the mixture into 12-16 meatballs.

Cook the Meatballs
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides, about 8-10 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.

Combine Meatballs and Sauce
Return the meatballs to the skillet with the marinara sauce. Simmer together for another 10-15 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.

Cook the Pasta
While the sauce is simmering, cook the spaghetti or ziti according to package instructions in a large pot of salted boiling water. Drain and set aside.

Serve the Dish
Serve the cooked pasta topped with marinara sauce and meatballs. Garnish with extra Parmesan cheese if desired.
