Royal Beverages

1

Dissolve sugar

Pour 1 cup of granulated sugar into a large pitcher (at least 2.5–3 quart capacity). Add 1 cup (250 ml) of the cold water and stir vigorously until the sugar is fully dissolved. This creates a quick simple syrup base so the Kool-Aid mixes evenly without grit.

2

Add Kool-Aid mix

Open the package of Kool-Aid powdered drink mix and pour the entire contents into the pitcher with the dissolved sugar. Stir thoroughly for 30–45 seconds to combine the powder into the syrup.

3

Top up with water

Slowly pour the remaining cold water (about 1.75 liters if measuring precisely, or the rest of the 2 liters total called for) into the pitcher while stirring to ensure even distribution. Continue stirring for another 20–30 seconds. Taste and adjust: if you prefer a stronger flavor, add up to 1/4 package more powder; if too sweet, add more cold water to dilute.

4

Chill and serve

Add 4 cups of ice cubes directly to the pitcher to chill quickly, or refrigerate the pitcher uncovered for at least 30 minutes before serving. Stir once more just before serving to mix any settled concentrate.

5

Garnish (optional)

Pour Kool-Aid into glasses over ice. Add a lemon slice to each glass and a small sprig of mint if desired for aroma and presentation.

6

Storage

Cover and refrigerate any leftover Kool-Aid for up to 3–4 days. Stir before serving as separation may occur.
