Cocktail Base
Crash (Fizzy Burst)
Garnish & Rimming
Method
Prepare Glass & Garnish
- 1
Choose a rocks or highball glass. Run the lime wedge around the rim to moisten it, then dip the rim into the coarse or colored sugar to create a sparkling rim. Fill the glass with cubed ice and set aside.
- 2
If using an orange wheel, cut a thin wheel and make a small slit so it can sit on the rim. Keep the mint sprig nearby for finish.
Mix Cocktail Base
- 3
Shake
In a cocktail shaker, add white rum (2 oz), citrus vodka (1 oz), orange liqueur (1/2 oz), fresh lime juice (3/4 oz), and simple syrup (1/2 oz). Add a handful of ice, secure the lid, and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until well chilled.
- 4
Strain the shaken mixture into the prepared ice-filled glass, pouring over the cubed ice.
Create the Crash (Fizzy Burst)
- 5
Carefully top the cocktail with sparkling water (2 oz) and then the energy drink or ginger beer (1 oz) to create a layered fizzy effect. Pour gently over the back of a spoon if you want to slow the pour and keep a subtle separation for presentation.
- 6
Give the drink one gentle stir (1–2 rotations) to marry flavors without flattening the bubbles.
Finish & Serve
- 7
Garnish with the orange wheel on the rim and tuck the mint sprig alongside it for aroma. Optionally express an orange peel over the drink to release oils, then drop it in.
- 8
Serve immediately while bubbly. Advise guests that this cocktail is fizzy and lively — the 'crash' comes from the bright citrus with the energy/ginger note.
