Method

Pão de Queijo

    Preheat the oven

    Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

    Mix wet ingredients

    In a saucepan, combine milk and vegetable oil. Heat over medium until boiling. Remove from heat.

    Combine dry ingredients

    In a mixing bowl, combine tapioca flour and salt.

    Mix and add eggs

    Pour the hot milk mixture over the tapioca flour and mix well. Add eggs one at a time, mixing until smooth. Stir in Parmesan cheese.

    Shape and bake

    Shape the dough into small balls and place them on a baking sheet. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden.

Feijoada

    Prepare beans

    Soak black beans overnight, then drain.

    Cook meats

    In a large pot, sauté onions and garlic until fragrant. Add chorizo and pork shoulder, cooking until browned.

    Combine ingredients

    Add soaked beans, bay leaves, salt, and pepper to the pot. Cover with water.

    Simmer

    Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 2 hours until beans are tender.

Farofa

    Sauté onions and garlic

    In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add diced onions and minced garlic, cooking until soft.

    Add cassava flour

    Stir in cassava flour and cook for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown.

    Add bacon

    Mix in cooked bacon and season with salt. Stir well and cook for an additional 2 minutes.

Bananas Fritas

    Heat oil

    In a large skillet or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat.

    Fry bananas

    Slice ripe bananas in half lengthwise, then fry in hot oil until golden on both sides.

    Sprinkle with brown sugar and salt before serving warm.
