Milk Tea

Method

Milk Tea Preparation

1

Brew jasmine tea

Place 2 teaspoons jasmine green tea leaves in a teapot or heatproof cup. Heat 1 cup of water to about 80-85°C (176-185°F) and pour over the leaves. Steep for 3-4 minutes, then strain or remove leaves.

2

Warm milk

While the tea steeps, gently warm 1 cup milk in a small saucepan over low heat until steaming. Do not let it boil. Remove from heat.

3

Sweeten the tea

Add 2 tablespoons granulated sugar to the hot jasmine tea and stir until fully dissolved.

4

Combine tea and milk

Pour the warm milk into the sweetened tea. Stir to blend evenly. If preferred, adjust sweetness by adding more sugar to taste.

5

Serve hot or iced

For hot jasmine green milk tea, pour into warmed cups and serve immediately. For iced variation, chill the mixture, then serve over ice. Optional: garnish with a jasmine petal or a light dusting of cinnamon.
