Milk Tea

Method

Milk Tea

  1. 1

    Boil water

Bring 2 cups of water to a rolling boil in a kettle or pot.

  2. 2

    Brew tea

Add 2 teaspoons Japanese black tea leaves to the boiling water and steep for 3–4 minutes, depending on desired strength.

  3. 3

    Strain tea

Strain or remove the tea leaves from the hot tea to prevent over-steeping and bitterness.

  4. 4

    Warm milk

Gently warm 200 ml Hokkaido milk until steaming (do not boil) to help blend with the tea.

  5. 5

    Combine and sweeten

Pour the hot tea into a cup, add the warm milk, and stir in 2 teaspoons sugar until dissolved.

  6. 6

    Serve

Taste and adjust sweetness if needed. Serve hot for a cozy cup. For a cold version, chill the tea briefly and serve over ice.
