Beverages

  1. 1

Fill a large pot with 8 cups of water and bring to a rolling boil over high heat.

  2. 2

Once boiling, remove from heat and add 4 black tea bags. Cover and steep for 5–7 minutes to develop a strong, dark brew.

  3. 3

Carefully remove the tea bags and stir in 0.5 cup sugar until completely dissolved and the tea is pleasantly sweet.

  4. 4

Pour the hot tea into a large pitcher and let it come to room temperature, then refrigerate until chilled (about 1–2 hours).

  5. 5

When ready to serve, fill 8-ounce glasses with ice (about 4 cups of ice total).

  6. 6

Pour the chilled tea over the ice. If desired, dilute with a splash of cold water to reach your preferred strength.

  7. 7

Garnish each glass with a lemon slice and serve cold.
