Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Jalapeños

Slice the jalapeños in half lengthwise and remove the seeds and membranes. This will help reduce the heat and make them easier to stuff.

  2. 2

    Make the Filling

In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined and creamy.

  3. 3

    Stuff the Jalapeños

Use a spoon or a piping bag to fill each jalapeño half with the cream cheese mixture. Ensure they are filled generously.

Breading and Frying

  1. 4

    Prepare the Breading Station

Set up a breading station with three bowls: one for flour, one for the beaten egg, and one for bread crumbs.

  2. 5

    Bread the Jalapeños

Dredge each stuffed jalapeño in flour, dip it into the beaten egg, and then coat it with bread crumbs. Make sure they are evenly coated.

  3. 6

    Heat the Oil

In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.

  4. 7

    Fry the Jalapeños

Carefully add the breaded jalapeños to the hot oil. Fry in batches for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.
