Method

Preparation of Salmon Patties

  1. 1

    Prepare the Salmon Mixture

In a large bowl, combine the canned salmon, breadcrumbs, chopped green onions, garlic powder, Dijon mustard, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

  2. 2

    Add Eggs

Crack the two large eggs into the salmon mixture and mix thoroughly until the mixture is cohesive and holds together.

  3. 3

    Form Patties

Using your hands, take a portion of the salmon mixture and shape it into patties, about 3 inches in diameter. Set them aside on a plate.

Batter Preparation

  1. 4

    Prepare the Batter

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, one egg, water, salt, and black pepper until smooth and free of lumps.

Cooking the Patties

  1. 5

    Heat the Oil

In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it's shimmering and hot.

  2. 6

    Batter the Patties

Dip each salmon patty into the batter, ensuring it's fully coated.

  3. 7

    Fry the Patties

Carefully place the battered patties in the hot oil. Fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.

  4. 8

    Drain and Serve

Once cooked, remove the patties from the oil and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil. Serve warm with your choice of dipping sauce.
