Method

Preparation of Shrimp

  1. 1

    Clean the Shrimp

Peel and devein the jumbo shrimp, leaving the tails on for presentation. Rinse them under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.

  2. 2

    Season the Shrimp

In a large bowl, toss the shrimp with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and lemon juice. Let it marinate for about 15 minutes.

Breading Process

  1. 3

    Set Up Breading Station

Prepare three shallow dishes: In the first dish, add the all-purpose flour. In the second dish, beat the two eggs. In the third dish, combine the breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, dried oregano, and dried thyme.

  2. 4

    Bread the Shrimp

Take each marinated shrimp and dredge it in the flour, shaking off the excess. Then dip it into the beaten eggs, allowing any excess to drip off. Finally, coat the shrimp in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to ensure the breadcrumbs adhere well.

Frying

  1. 5

    Heat the Oil

In a large skillet or frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Use enough oil to cover the bottom of the pan by about 1/2 inch.

  2. 6

    Fry the Shrimp

Once the oil is hot (you can test it by dropping a breadcrumb in; it should sizzle), carefully add the breaded shrimp in batches. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Remove the shrimp and drain on paper towels.

  3. 7

    Serve

Serve the jumbo breaded shrimp hot with your choice of dipping sauce and lemon wedges.
