Method
Preparation
- 1
Prep the Au Jus
Heat the prepared au jus in a saucepan over medium heat until it is hot and simmering. Stir occasionally to prevent it from sticking to the bottom of the pan.
- 2
Season the Roast Beef
In a large bowl, combine the sliced roast beef with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Toss gently to ensure the beef is evenly coated with the seasoning.
Assembling the Sandwiches
- 3
Prepare the Hoagie Buns
Cut each hoagie bun lengthwise, but do not cut all the way through. Leave a hinge on one side.
- 4
Layer the Roast Beef
Place a portion of the seasoned roast beef into each hoagie bun, pressing down slightly to fit. Top each portion with two slices of Swiss cheese.
- 5
Melt the Cheese
Place the assembled sandwiches in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serving
- 6
Serve the Sandwiches
Remove the sandwiches from the oven and serve them hot with a side of warm au jus for dipping. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired.
