Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Shrimp
Rinse the extra large shrimp under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Ensure they are thoroughly dried to help the breading adhere better.
- 2
Set Up the Breading Station
In three separate shallow dishes, place the all-purpose flour in the first dish, beat the eggs in the second dish, and combine the breadcrumbs, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper in the third dish.
Breading the Shrimp
- 3
Coat the Shrimp
Take one shrimp and dredge it in the flour, ensuring it is fully coated. Shake off any excess flour.
- 4
Dip in Egg
Next, dip the floured shrimp into the beaten eggs, allowing any excess egg to drip off.
- 5
Coat with Breadcrumbs
Finally, coat the shrimp in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing down gently to ensure the breadcrumbs adhere well. Place the breaded shrimp on a plate and repeat with the remaining shrimp.
Frying the Shrimp
- 6
- 7
Fry the Shrimp
Carefully add the breaded shrimp to the hot oil in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until they are golden brown and cooked through.
- 8
Drain the Shrimp
Once the shrimp are cooked, use a slotted spoon to remove them from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.
Serving
- 9
Serve Hot
Serve the breaded shrimp hot with your choice of dipping sauce, such as cocktail sauce or garlic aioli.
