Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour five 9-inch round cake pans.

Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, sift together the flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.

Incorporate Boiling Water
Carefully stir in the boiling water until fully incorporated. The batter will be thin.

Bake the Layers
Divide the batter evenly among the prepared cake pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Cool the Cakes
Remove the cakes from the oven and let them cool in the pans for 10 minutes. Then transfer the cakes to a wire rack to cool completely.

Prepare the Cream
In a large mixing bowl, pour in the heavy whipping cream.

Add Sugar and Vanilla
Add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract to the cream.

Using a hand mixer or stand mixer, whip the cream on medium-high speed until soft peaks form, about 3-5 minutes.

Once whipped, refrigerate the cream until ready to use to ensure it stays fluffy.
