Directions

  1. 1

    Steeping the Tea

In a small saucepan, bring 1 cup of water to a near boil (about 175°F or 80°C).

  2. 2

    Adding Tea Leaves

Once the water is heated, add 2 teaspoons of Japanese Sencha tea leaves to the saucepan.

  3. 3

    Brewing Time

Allow the tea leaves to steep for 2-3 minutes, ensuring not to over-steep as this can cause bitterness.

  4. 4

    Straining the Tea

After steeping, strain the tea into a cup to remove the leaves.

  5. 5

    Adding Flavor

Stir in 1 teaspoon of lemon zest and 1 tablespoon of honey to the hot tea, mixing well until the honey is dissolved.

  6. 6

    Serving

If desired, add ice cubes to a glass and pour the brewed tea over the ice. Serve immediately.
