Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Ingredients
Start by chopping the mushrooms and grating the beetroot. Also, make sure your lentils are cooked and ready to use.
- 2
Sauté the Mushrooms
In a skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped mushrooms and sauté for about 5-7 minutes until they are soft and browned. Remove from heat and set aside.
- 3
Combine Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine the sautéed mushrooms, cooked lentils, grated beetroot, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
- 4
Add Breadcrumbs
Gradually add breadcrumbs to the mixture until it holds together well. You may need more or less depending on the moisture of the ingredients.
- 5
Form the Patties
Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a burger patty.
- 6
Cook the Patties
In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil and heat over medium heat. Cook each patty for about 4-5 minutes on each side until crispy and golden brown.
- 7
Assemble the Burger
Toast the burger buns lightly. On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by a cooked patty, a slice of tomato, some toasted onion, and a generous drizzle of R & P sauce. Top with the other half of the bun.
- 8
Serve
Serve the vegan burgers warm with your choice of side dishes.
