Cocktail Ingredients

Method

Cocktail Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Fruit

Chop the fresh seasonal fruit into small pieces if necessary. If using berries, they can remain whole. Set aside.

  2. 2

    Muddle the Mint

In a cocktail shaker, add the fresh mint leaves. Use a muddler or the back of a spoon to gently press down on the mint leaves to release their oils. Be careful not to shred the leaves too much.

  3. 3

    Combine Ingredients

Add the chopped fruit, simple syrup, and lemon juice into the shaker with the muddled mint. Use a spoon to mix everything together gently.

  4. 4

    Add Spirits

Pour in the gin or vodka over the fruit and mint mixture. Fill the shaker with ice cubes.

  5. 5

    Shake Well

Secure the lid on the shaker and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds to combine all ingredients and chill the mixture.

  6. 6

    Strain and Serve

Strain the mixture into a glass filled with ice cubes. Top with club soda to add some fizz.

  7. 7

    Garnish

Garnish the cocktail with a sprig of fresh mint and additional pieces of seasonal fruit, if desired.
