For Cooking

Method

Prepare the Dumpling Filling

  1. 1

    Mix the Filling

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, grated carrots, corn kernels, minced garlic, minced ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

Make the Dumpling Wrappers

  1. 2

    Prepare the Dough

In another bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. Gradually add boiling water, stirring with a fork until the mixture is cool enough to handle.

  2. 3

    Knead the Dough

Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for at least 30 minutes.

  3. 4

    Roll the Wrappers

Divide the dough into small portions and roll each portion into a thin circle (about 3 inches in diameter). Keep the wrappers covered with a damp cloth to prevent drying out.

Assemble the Dumplings

  1. 5

    Fill the Wrappers

Take one wrapper and place about 1 tablespoon of filling in the center. Moisten the edges with water, fold the wrapper in half, and pinch to seal tightly. Repeat until all wrappers and filling are used.

Cook the Dumplings

  1. 6

    Pan Fry the Dumplings

In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Place the dumplings in the skillet, making sure not to overcrowd them. Fry for about 2-3 minutes until the bottoms are golden brown.

  2. 7

    Steam the Dumplings

Carefully add 1 cup of water to the skillet and cover with a lid immediately. Allow the dumplings to steam for about 5-7 minutes, or until the water has evaporated and the dumplings are cooked through.
