Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Prepare the Custard Mixture

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until well combined.

  2. 2

    Soak the Brioche

Dip each slice of brioche bread into the custard mixture, allowing it to soak for about 30 seconds on each side.

  3. 3

    Cook the French Toast

In a skillet or griddle over medium heat, melt the butter. Once melted, add the soaked brioche slices and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.

  4. 4

    Prepare Citrus Caramel

In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine 1/2 cup of sugar with 1/4 cup of water. Stir until the sugar dissolves, then let it cook without stirring until it turns a deep amber color. Remove from heat and carefully add the juice from 1 orange and 1 lemon, stirring to combine.

  5. 5

    Serve

Plate the French toast and drizzle with citrus caramel. Top with fresh blueberries and serve immediately.
